Oude Warande
This special forest area is located on the west side of Tilburg. De Oude Warande, the largest Star Forest in the Netherlands, is over 300 years old. From a central point, eight avenues run to the corners and outer edges of the forest. You can have a wonderful walk here and enjoy the rich diversity of plants.
Moerenburg
Southeast of Tilburg we find Moerenburg. This is pre-eminently an area for fanatic and occasional hikers. Moerenburg is also brimming with special plants and animals. Of the nearly 1200 plant and animal species that you can find there, there are several unique to North Brabant and some even for the Netherlands. And did you know that here is the thickest tree in Tilburg!
Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen
Close to Oisterwijk you will find the Oisterwijkse Bossen and Vennen. This nature reserve is special, soothing and inspiring all year round. Spot kingfishers and deer or spot a great diversity of insects. Discover the splendor of this nature reserve. For where can you find as many as 80 fens in one nature reserve?
Regte Heide
South of Tilburg lies a special piece of heathland: De Regte Heide. From this nature reserve you overlook the skyline of Tilburg, but otherwise you are only surrounded by nature. Because the landscape changes quickly, there is a lot of variation within a short distance.
Stadsbos013
Stadsbos013 is a vast nature reserve on the outskirts of Tilburg, within cycling distance of the city center. Here you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while, by walking through the various nature reserves that make up the Stadsbos. Many of these parks were designed by famous landscape architects. And you can tell. There is a wealth of extraordinary nature as well as buildings of all times and all styles.
