Dance Duet: Threads – people among each other

dance duet (2)

'Threads is a dance duet that zooms in on the different stages of trust: the
building, maintaining, but also the question of what happens when the
trust is broken. Can it be rebuilt?

Trust

Trust is a universal subject that touches everyone's life, but it sometimes gets
lost in our individualistic world. By focusing on personal
goals, we lose sight of what really matters: trust, which goes hand in hand
goes with honesty, respect and kindness. Not everyone will always meet us in the
way we deserve to be met, which is why we need to start with ourselves. If
we share trust, we can spread it around us. We also need to find a
way to deal with negative experiences without losing our good
losing our good intentions. This contemporary dance performance will take you on an intimate journey and make you wonder what role trust plays for you.'

Ching Yin Weng & Clara Schönig

'The creators and dancers of “Threads” are Ching Yin Weng (Taiwan) and Clara
Schönig (Germany), both of whom are dancers, makers and teachers based in Brabant
based. As a duo, we share many values and enrich each other through our
different cultural backgrounds.
The performance “Threads” stems from our personal experiences with
confidence, which we want to share as a reflection and inspiration for everyday life.

Workshop

'After the performance there is a workshop. Anyone who wants to can participate. This
is of course voluntary and not obligatory. It gives you the opportunity to process
what you have seen and to bring in your own experiences with confidence. There
exercises are done on the topic of trust. At the same time you will get
insight into what kind of exercises the dancers used to create the piece
making. Dance experience is not important.'
