Lecture 'Makers on materials' x Art Journal
On Friday, Sept. 20, curator Danique Klijs will give a lecture on the exhibition 'Makers on Materials' at the TextielMuseum. This lecture has been organized in collaboration with Kunstschrift, following the special theme issue 'Narrative Textiles'. During the lecture, Danique Klijs shares insights from her article, in which she elaborates on the creation of the exhibition. She discusses why specific works and makers were selected, and provides background information on the artworks on display.
Special attention will be paid to the work of Asli Hatipoglu, who explored the material silk for her artwork Bombyx Mori, and Thierry Oussou, whose work Equilibrium Wind focuses on cotton. The lecture offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the stories and materials behind these impressive works.
