Les Négresses Vertes, founded in 1987, emerged from the vibrant alternative music scene in Paris. Their music has a wide range of influences, from Algerian raï and Mediterranean sounds to South American rhythms and French café music. Together with Mano Negra, the band grew to become the figurehead of colorful “mestizo” music. In the summer of 1989, they made their debut with the iconic album “Mlah. This album brought a unique blend of Mediterranean music, ball music, jazz, punk and much more, all laced with Mano Negra's typical energy. Over thirty years later, 'Mlah' remains as fresh, raw and compelling as ever. Classic songs such as 'Voilà l'Été,' 'Zobi La Mouche,' 'C'est Pas La Mer à Boire,' 'Face à la Mer' and 'Sous le Soleil de Bodega' excel in poetry, charisma and playing pleasure. Six years after their triumphant comeback with unforgettable concerts throughout Europe and the United States, this legendary band concludes their tour with, for now, their last show in the Netherlands.
