Multimedia dance performance HEAR_ME

In HEAR_ME, we enter a new unknown world, where six dancers - one deaf and five hearing - speak a common language beyond words. All the senses are stimulated and our way of communicating is revised.

In this performance, THE_AND Music introduces the innovative SoundShirt technology for the first time in the Netherlands. This shirt, equipped with 28 vibration sensors on the sleeves, chest and back, converts music, animations, light and choreography into palpable vibrations. This makes not only the music but the entire choreography physically experienced, making the performance accessible to both hearing and deaf people.

HEAR_ME is a multimedia dance performance that combines new technology with artistic expression. It demonstrates the power of nonverbal communication and lets you connect with music, dance and each other in a new, physical way.

The SoundShirts are available exclusively for the deaf and hard of hearing to allow them to physically experience the performance.
