Music Film Festival

Het Zuidelijk Film Festival 2024-1

Music Film Festival

On Friday night, 6 September, the curtain rises on the third edition of the Music Film Festival. The film festival entirely dedicated to music will bring even more live performances to Tilburg's city centre this year.

More live music at third edition of the Music Film Festival

A performance, interview or workshop is planned to accompany almost every film screening; from a master class in opera singing to a talk on the impact of the music film Purple Rain on pop music, and from a film without a screen with exhibition, to a special Ramses Shaffy evening, with films and performances. The Music Film Festival will be held at four venues: Filmtheater Cinecitta, Poppodium 013, Jazzclub Paradox and cinema Pathé Tilburg Centrum. Ticket sales have now started.

Music is experience

Festival director Gerard van den Broek: "The film festival is 100% about music and musicians and at every screening there is something extra to experience: a conversation with the film director, an introduction to the artist, a workshop for students or - in many cases - a live concert by the musician or band the film is about. Music is experience, it is not something you can just talk about. When you see a film like this, you also want to hear it and be able to dance to it. A film festival that is about music just has to have live music as well."

Tickets and prices

All films at the Music Film Festival can be attended for the unit price of 12.50 Euro, a combination of film + concert costs 18.00 Euro. For the concert in 013, a small allowance applies and comes to 21.50 Euro. Tickets are available via the website.
