Symposium: What a Circus!
In Tilburg we sometimes hang upside down
On Tuesday, October 8, Studium Generale of Tilburg University, together with Festival Circolo, is organizing a program on contemporary circus. Everyone is welcome to attend this English-language program (please register via the website, because full is full). In this program we explore contemporary circus and its audience. Contemporary circus focuses more on story, characters and form. It combines this with life-threatening tricks, breathtaking stunts and incredible body movements.
Circus is so diverse that it is almost impossible to capture in one sentence. It is always in motion, changing form and content and is therefore unpredictable and never boring. Three speakers will tell you more about the contemporary circus, the public, life as a circus artist and the future of circus. And of course there is plenty of room for questions from the audience.
