The new heart of downtown

Tilburg has a new city square! On Saturday, September 21, the renewed Stadsforum will be festively opened with an evening of music, culture and fraternization. The city invites all its residents to celebrate together during a spectacular opening night with a unique city opera and the well-known sing-along festival Tilburg Zingt.

Enchanting opera and familiar sing-along

From 6 p.m., the bars of Tilburg Zingt will be open and DJ Wietse will give a preview of the songs of Tilburg Zingt; everything to get the festive evening off to a good start. At 7:15 p.m., the evening kicks off with an impressive city opera, specially created by the internationally acclaimed Tilburg composer duo Strijbos & Van Rijswijk. Commissioned by Binnenstad Management Tilburg, the Pleingenoten of the Stadsforum and the Municipality of Tilburg, they have developed an enchanting sound play. All buildings around the Stadsforum form the breathtaking backdrop for this opera, in which compositions, live singing and sounds come together to bring the atmosphere of the square to life in a unique way. An artistic tribute to the new heart of Tilburg! After the opera it's time to sing along with Tilburg Zingt, presented by Leo Alkemade and Marc Meeuwis. On stage this year as many as 11 choirs from Tilburg and the surrounding area, who accompany young and old in singing all known hits. It is coming home to the new Stadsforum for Tilburg Zingt, at the place where it all began.

The square of and for all Tilburgers

A new square of fraternization, where togetherness is central. The new Stadsforum is surrounded by the Schouwburg, concert hall, Heikese kerk, the Palace-Council House, City Hall, Katterug, Factorium and Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. There is space for the Saturday weekly market from October 2024, for meetings, to catch your breath in the lee of the inner city, but also for small and large events, such as the Tilburg Fair. This new largest square in the inner city is a square of and for all Tilburg residents.
