Book Week is 90 years old, and it is being celebrated in a big way at the LocHal Library. From March 12 to 23, everything will be dedicated to the theme “Mother Tongue. A book can take you to unknown worlds, but language brings you home.
Book Week is 90 years old, and it is being celebrated in a big way at the LocHal Library. From March 12 to 23, everything will be dedicated to the theme “Mother Tongue. A book can take you to unknown worlds, but language brings you home. Your mother tongue is the language in which you feel most connected - whether it is your mother's language or the language in which you speak, write, sing and cheer.
Book week gift author Gerwin van der Werf and Geert Mak visit
This year Book Week celebrates a special anniversary with a special Book Week gift. Through a writing contest 'The Crater' by Gerwin van der Werf was chosen as this year's gift! On March 19 he will talk about the writing process and former Book Week gift author Geert Mak will drop by.
Talk show: In your mother tongue
On Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m., there will be a special talk show edition of the podcast “John & Paul Have Words. In it, the theme of Book Week 'In your mother tongue' is central. With sharp columns by Japke-d. Bouma, fascinating insights from linguist Kristel Doreleijers and poetic music by Iris Penning. An afternoon full of humor, depth and language fun!
