Imagine a woman. She has it all: a good job, a beautiful home and a loving son. And then, one day, she passes out at work. An unexplained illness is eating away at her. No one knows what's wrong with her - but something is in the air.
Imagine a woman. She has it all: a good job, a beautiful home and a loving son. And then, one day, she passes out at work. An unexplained illness is eating away at her. No one knows what's wrong with her - but something is in the air. Maybe she's allergic to the 21st century?
Her battle with the disease does not match the story she has heard all her life: if you just work hard enough, you can control everything. The NITE ensemble (Sarah Janneh, Bien De Moor, Sanne den Hartogh, Nimuë Walraven and Olaf Ait Tami) and a live percussionist embody this heartfelt and sometimes absurd journey: a roller coaster ride that feels like scrolling through a social media feed. Ocean Breeze takes the audience to the heart of what it means to be a body (or other) in our society.
