Philzuid - Rhapsody in Blue
Philzuid presents an evening brimming with musical energy and imagination. Featuring Stravinsky’s 'Petrushka', Gershwin’s 'Rhapsody in Blue', and Poulenc’s 'Les Biches', the program offers a diverse lineup in which classical traditions and innovative sounds come together in surprising ways.
A diverse program
The program features three exceptional works that together promise an evening full of contrast, energy, and refinement. Stravinsky’s Petrushka sparkles with rhythmic power and colorful orchestral sounds, giving the orchestra ample opportunity to shine. In Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, classical music and jazz come together in a compelling and timeless masterpiece, performed by top pianist Alexandre Tharaud. Poulenc’s Les Biches then brings a playful and elegant atmosphere, with light melodies and the unmistakable charm of French music. Together, these works form a multifaceted program that continues to surprise.
