Noorderbos

Nothing beats the Noorderbos. In this nature reserve close to the city, you imagine yourself away from the world. In the eighty acres you will find water features, paths, bridges and lanes. A valhalla for a beautiful walk.
Aqueducts
This Noorderbos was built on the former flow fields that were once used for water purification. That function can still be seen on dikes and "aqueducts" over which the water was led. All sorts of artifacts from that time can still be found in the area, such as strange concrete structures and crazy little bridges.
Bird Paradise
North Lake is a beautiful body of water, but it also has an important wildlife function. This pond is a popular spot for nesting little grebes and kingfishers. Around the pond you will find other critters, trees, and plants besides birds. So grab your binoculars or magnifying glass and go exploring!
Facelift
The Noorderbos is going through a big change. All sorts of things are in the pipeline for this green part of Tilburg. For example, a dike is being constructed, which will provide panoramas as it meanders through the area. Also the Noorderplas will get a facelift, the banks will be adapted for recreation and there will be a catering facility. But you don't have to wait until this is finished, the Noorderbos is already worth a visit.
The spot
As you walk toward Noorderplas you cross a little bridge by HNS Landscape Architects. A simple but stylish piece of landscape architecture. Functional and charming.
