South of Tilburg lies a special piece of heathland: De Regte Heide. From this nature reserve you overlook the skyline of Tilburg, but otherwise you are only surrounded by nature. Because the landscape changes quickly, there is a lot of variation within a short distance.

Tomb mounds

On the Regte Heide there are four burial mounds right next to each other. These date back to the Bronze Age (2000-700 BC). The mounds are a trace of a settlement from that time. Are you an early bird? Then it's worth checking out these burial mounds during the blue quarter, just before sunrise. The silence and darkness enhance the mysterious nature of these monuments.

Differences

The Netherlands is generally as flat as a quarter. But the Regte Heide has spectacular relief by Dutch standards: over 3 kilometers, some 5 meters difference in height. So ordinary straight is not really straight, there on the Regte Heide! Furthermore, this area has a great variety of landscapes, a nice trip for lovers of forests and heathland.

The spot

The best view of the Regte Heide is from the Five Mountain. From here you look out over the entire heath and are surrounded by all the shades of green, yellow, purple, brown and beige that the heath has to offer.
