Once the first biological water treatment plant in the Netherlands with much international attention.
A leader of its kind
On the edge of Landscape Park Moerenburg-Koningshoeven is the national monument Waterzuivering Moerenburg. From 1937 to 2005, wastewater from the textile industry was purified here. As the first biological water purification plant in the Netherlands, it enjoyed great international interest.

Grollegat en Buunderbrug
At the place where Kommerstraat and Koebrugseweg meet in Moerenburg is a fen traditionally known as De Buunder or De Bunder, but mentioned on topographical maps as Grollegat.
Wilhelmina canal
The Wilhelmina Canal, which branches off from the Zuid-Willemsvaart and flows into the Amer River near Geertruidenberg, drains water from the Dommel, the Aa and the Upper Donge.
