IMG 1183

Located on Telefoonstraat, you will find a mural full of typical Tilburg landmarks: 'Tilburg Topia' and 'The Tightrope Walker'.

About Tilburg Topia

Recognisable features such as a La Trappe beer, the kroepoekdak (prawn cracker roof) and the fairground Ferris wheel. The mural invites you to discover new details every time you look at it. A colourful tribute to Tilburg that brings together local culture, humour and nostalgic elements. Tilburg Topia was commissioned by the owner of the building.

About The Tightrope Walker

Above the entrance to the car park next to the “Tilburg Topia” artwork stands a small statue of a tightrope walker: De Koordanser (means Tightrope Walker). It is a subtle, surprising detail that complements the painting in a playful way. The Tightrope Walker is a small, narrative element that adds an extra layer to the larger artwork.

About the artist

The work was created by Ruben de Bruijn, who works under the name “Rubentopia”. The title “Tilburg Topia” therefore refers to his artist name. Ruben specialises in detailed illustration. He uses his “inner world” as a compass to create his illustrations.
