From residential house to monastery
Fleeing the Kulturkampf in Germany, the sisters of the Order of Our Lady Visitation ended up in Tilburg. On 20 February 1885, the Visitation nuns settled in the white mansion. The sisters expanded the house with an infirmary, a nuns' choir and a chapel. In 1986, the community was dissolved. Chapel and convent have been part of the Fontys Colleges since 2005.
